This reminds me of a Mother's Day Tea at the school I last worked at. The kindergarten teachers planned the tea and paid for the cookies themselves. Invitations were sent out. A mother brought her younger child to the tea and there were not extra cookies. She went to everyone begging for cookies, even the principal. then she sat down and cried loudly.
