I love your stories Toni. When my sister graduated in 1965, her friend was put out of school because she was pregnant. Her baby daddy was not. She later committed suicide after the married because he beat her. Her mother wouldn't let her come home. He became the chief of police. By the time I graduated in 1977, you could be married and be pregnant at my school. It was still a scandal. When I taught school in the same system in the1980's girls were busssed to a special school They could take their babies on the bus. I don't know if it was better or not.
